What is lip blush?

Will lip blush make my lips look bigger?

Lip blush does not add physical volume like injectable filler. However, improving the border, color, and symmetry can make the lips appear more defined and visually fuller. Pigment must remain within the natural lip tissue.

Can I choose the color?

Yes. The pigment is selected according to your natural lip color, skin tone, preferences, and desired healed result. The initial color will look brighter and more intense before softening significantly during healing.

What is the difference between Aquarelle Lips, Ombré Lips, and a lipstick effect?

Aquarelle Lips create a soft, translucent wash of color. Ombré Lips use controlled transitions to create dimension, while a lipstick effect produces greater saturation and definition. The technique is customized according to your natural lips and preferred intensity.

How long does lip blush last?

Lip blush commonly lasts approximately two to four years before a color boost may be desired. Longevity varies according to natural lip pigmentation, lifestyle, sun exposure, skin-care habits, medications, pigment selection, and individual retention.

Is lip blush painful?

Sensitivity varies because the lips contain many nerve endings. Most clients experience pressure, scratching, vibration, or moderate sensitivity. A topical anesthetic may be used to improve comfort during the procedure.

What should I expect during healing?

Temporary swelling, tenderness, dryness, and tightness are common. The color will initially appear much brighter or darker than the final result. Light flaking or peeling may occur during the first week, followed by a stage in which the pigment appears very light before gradually becoming more visible.

Will I need a perfecting session?

Most new lip blush procedures require an initial appointment followed by a perfecting session approximately six weeks later. Lips can heal unevenly or retain pigment differently in certain areas, so the second session allows us to evaluate the healed result and refine the color when needed.

Can lip blush correct asymmetry?

Lip blush can visually improve mild asymmetry by refining the color and definition within the natural lip border. It cannot safely create a completely new shape outside the lip tissue or correct significant structural asymmetry.

Can lip blush be performed on naturally dark or cool-toned lips?

Possibly, but naturally dark, brown, purple, gray, or unevenly pigmented lips may require a specialized neutralization process before the desired target color can be achieved. Dark-lip neutralization is not the same as standard lip blush and may require multiple sessions.

What if I have a history of cold sores?

Lip procedures can trigger a cold-sore outbreak in clients who carry the herpes simplex virus, even if outbreaks are infrequent. Disclose your history before booking and consult an appropriate healthcare professional about whether prescription antiviral medication is recommended. Do not begin or change medication without medical guidance.

Can you work over previous lip permanent makeup?

Sometimes. Existing pigment must be evaluated for color, saturation, shape, migration, and placement. Dark, heavily saturated, discolored, or poorly positioned pigment may require correction or removal planning before a new lip color can be applied.
