How is Soft Liner different from classic permanent eyeliner?

Classic eyeliner creates a clean, clearly defined line similar to pencil or liquid eyeliner. Soft Liner has a more blended finish with gradual shading above the lash line. It can appear softer, lighter, and more dimensional than classic eyeliner.

How is Soft Liner different from a lash-line enhancement?

A lash-line enhancement places pigment subtly between the lashes to make them look fuller. Soft Liner extends above the lash line and incorporates visible shading, creating a more noticeable makeup effect while remaining softer than a solid eyeliner design.

Can the shape and shading be customized?

Yes. The thickness, direction, color, intensity, and amount of shading are customized according to your eye shape, eyelid space, natural folds, skin condition, and desired result. The design is reviewed with your eyes both open and closed before the procedure begins.

Is Soft Liner suitable for hooded or mature eyes?

It may be, but the design must be adapted carefully. Heavy shading or a long wing can become hidden or distorted by eyelid folds. A more compact design with controlled shading may provide a softer and more flattering result for hooded or mature eyes.

Can Soft Liner include a wing?

A small, carefully positioned wing or finishing point may be possible when the eyelid anatomy supports it. Longer or dramatically lifted wings are not appropriate for every eye shape and may not age well as the eyelids naturally change.

What colors are available?

Soft Liner can be created using black, dark brown, soft brown, charcoal, or carefully blended shades. Color selection depends on your skin tone, eye color, personal style, and desired intensity. Very light or fashionable colors may fade differently and are not suitable for every client.

Will Soft Liner look very dark immediately after the procedure?

Yes, the eyeliner will initially appear darker, sharper, and more intense than the healed result. Temporary swelling can also make it look thicker. As the skin heals, the color and shading soften into a more diffused finish.

Is the procedure painful?

Most clients describe pressure, vibration, tickling, or mild discomfort. A topical anesthetic may be used to improve comfort, although sensitivity varies between clients and may increase as the appointment progresses.

What should I expect during healing?

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, and tightness may occur. Light flaking can develop during the first week. The pigment may temporarily appear lighter or uneven before becoming more visible as the skin settles. Do not pick or prematurely remove any flaking skin.

How long does Soft Liner last?

Soft Liner commonly remains visible for several years, gradually softening and fading over time. The shaded areas may fade faster than the defined lash line. Longevity varies according to skin characteristics, sun exposure, lifestyle, pigment selection, medications, aftercare, and individual retention.

Will I need a perfecting session?

Most new Soft Liner procedures require an initial appointment followed by a perfecting session approximately six weeks later. This appointment allows us to evaluate the healed definition and shading and make appropriate refinements.

Can I wear contact lenses or lash extensions to my appointment?

Contact lenses, lash extensions, eye makeup, and lash-growth serums can affect the procedure or healing process. Follow the studio’s preparation instructions carefully and disclose any eye sensitivity, recent eye treatment, or medical condition before your appointment.

Can old permanent eyeliner be converted into Soft Liner?

Sometimes. Existing eyeliner must be evaluated for color, shape, thickness, migration, and saturation. Soft shading may improve certain designs, but heavily saturated, uneven, discolored, or migrated eyeliner may require correction or removal planning first.
